Adopt a Buffalo Program

Adopt A Buffalo

AdoptABuffalo.com is run by Sacred Ground International A 501(c)3 organization working in collaboration with the Sacred Ground Buffalo Ranch in Montana to restore and preserve lands and wildlife that once flourished. We started with 10 buffalo and a prayer. We are 100% dependent on public contributions and participation. We manage the herd and maintain a healthy landscape only with the collaboration of the buffalo.

The contribution of $40.00 per month supports the life of one buffalo. Our herd size averages 175 head. You support the winter feed, the fencing, the vehicles and staff required to manage them.

The Ranch, the Buffalo, the Horses, all of the projects and the fulfillment of our dreams are a collaboration. We interface with agricultural and habitat organizations etc.

The most important interaction we have is with all of the people from every walk of life, every part of the globe and every socio-economic strata that have read this site, come to visit the Ranch, heard about us, shared something they heard about us or wished us well as our paths crossed. This is where the passionate volunteers come from. This is the networking that we depend on for financial sustainability. This is where many miraculous synchronicities happen. So my first invitation is to:

- Contact us, share who you are and any interest you may have in any part of what we do.

We are here to share our knowledge, experience and successes (and well learned lessons) with all who are interested. Share your experiences that we may learn and pass them on.

- Watch for classes, gatherings, News/Events or contact us and ask about your special interest and this may birth a new event we may offer. As we serve the needs of the land and the animals, we also wish to serve our communities in ways we may not realize we can yet. We are rich in Natural Resources, wide spaces and love of what we do.
